Job Summary:

• Provides educational and therapeutic  interventions (coinciding with patients’ treatment plans and treatment modalities) constructive and beneficial to patients’ mental health.
• Manages materials.
• Demonstrates an understanding of diversity.
• Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
• Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
• Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

Required Education:

• Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation, music therapy, or art therapy (including coursework or an internship in a medical setting)

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• None

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:

• One of, or eligible for one of, the following: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), Music Therapist--Board Certified (MT-BC) credential from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT), or Art Therapist Registered--Board Certified (ATR-BC) credential from the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).
