Your Role:

• Responsible for delivering quality care to perinatal patients.
• Promotes evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and nurse satisfaction.
• Advances strategies that promote teamwork, communication, standardized care processes, engagement in quality improvement, and safety.
• Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice and administrative activities for perinatal units by embracing innovations in technology, therapeutics, and processes to ensure the perinatal units’ goals are met.
• Assures that the nursing care meets legal, ethical, institutional, and professional standards.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards

• Service Line Administrator (SLA), Women’s and Children’s Services (JC 009502)

Supervises:

• RN/Nurse Manager (JC 031001)
• RN/Assistant Nurse Manager (JC 030303)

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Preferred Education:

• Master’s degree in nursing.

Required Experience:

• Five (5) years of perinatal nursing experience.
• Three (3) years of managerial experience at the unit manager or director level.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in budgeting, strategic planning, shared governance, and quality improvement.  
• Strong knowledge of nursing and administrative practice standards.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.n

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:  

• Specialty credential (e.g., Registered Nurse, Certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNCMNN) or Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB)) or nursing administration credential (e.g., Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or Nurse Executive/Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NE/NEA-BC)).  
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
