HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Job Summary:

  • Supports and assists Compliance and Privacy (department 8237) with ensuring compliance and privacy programs’ effectiveness.
  • Responsible, in collaboration with the Mgr/Corp Compliance-Privacy (hereafter, “manager”), for implementing and facilitating ongoing privacy compliance auditing, monitoring, and education activities.
  • Collaborates with the manager to ensure Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Inc. (TMH) complies with applicable federal and state privacy program rules, regulations, and administrative requirements.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing solutions related to reporting, analytics, integration, and other requests.

  • Mgr/Corp Compliance-Privacy (job code (JC): 221101)

  • None

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

  • Associate degree in management, business administration, information technology, computer science, health informatics, or paralegal/legal studies


Required Experience:

  • Two (2) years of professional, job-related experience

Required Certification/License/Registry:

  • Certified Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) credential or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) credential from the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA).
  • NOTE: Human Resources (HR) may accept a bachelor’s degree (or two (2) years of relevant, job-related experience) in business administration, information technology, computer science, information security/privacy, health information management services, risk management, or compliance in lieu of the required credential. Experience accepted in lieu of the credential will not be applied toward the minimum education requirement (i.e., the same experience will not be counted twice).

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  
  • Proficiency in maintaining prioritized task lists.  
  • Proficiency in incorporating and meeting deadlines.  
  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and a wide variety of external contacts (e.g., general counsel, consultants, patients, and visitors).  
  • Ability to work and communicate with individuals at all organizational levels.  
  • Ability to analyze data independently and present it understandably to non-technical audiences.  
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, to all audiences.  
  • Ability to triage incoming inquiries and exercise good judgment. 
  • Ability to work under close direction, prioritize, and multi-task.  
  • Ability to meet changing demands, meet short deadlines, work under pressure, and display professionalism in all interactions.  
  • Thinks independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health information management, computer science, information technology, information security, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of healthcare compliance and/or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) privacy investigations experience.
