HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Entry-level training job reserved for surgical services (surgical technology track) students. Trains to clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize reusable operating room (O.R.) medical devices. Provides general, non-technical assistance to nursing staff members. Assists surgeons by passing instrumentation and holding retractors. Establishes and protects the sterile field during procedures. Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (when necessary).

Incumbent will be promoted to Surgical Technician (JC: 042202) once the course is completed and Surgical Technologist/Cert (JC: 041602) once the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is awarded.

RN [Registered Nurse]/Nurse Manager (job code (JC): 031001), or RN/Assistant Nurse Manager (JC: 030303)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency). Must complete apprenticeship course (2,000 hours) within twelve (12) months post-hire.
