Job Summary:

• The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the delegated nursing functions under the direction of the department manager and clinical nurses.
• Assisting with direct patient care and clerical duties that are an essential function in the coordination of optimal patient care, including, but not limited to:
  • Scheduling patients
  • Patient hygiene/toileting
  •  Mobility assistance
  • Interdepartmental transportation
  • Vital signs
  • Charting
  • Ordering supplies
  • Cleaning and stocking patient areas
  • Chart audits
  • Interaction with all areas of the department.
• Note: Position works Mon., Wed., and Fri.  7:45-4:15 p.m.

• RN/Nurse Manager

Supervises:

• None

Required Education:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and successful completion of a Medical Assistant training course at a vocational/technical school.

Required Experience:

• None

Preferred Experience:

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant externship and two (2) or more years of job-related experience

• None
