Job Summary:

• Performs a full range of waived, moderate, and high complexity testing and reports results.
• Confirms the accuracy and precision of test results and report laboratory findings to the pathologist and other physicians on a timely basis.
• Must have complete understanding of testing procedures and the theoretical knowledge to be able to interpret results and to troubleshoot problems encountered during testing.

• Microbiology Lab Section Head (JC: 023601)

Required Education:

• Associate degree (or equivalent) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.

Required Experience:

• No required experience needed

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 483 (Health Testing Services), Part I (Clinical Laboratory Personnel) with added specialties in clinical chemistry, and/or hematology, and/or microbiology, and/or serology.
